I
did a tour last Monday night that was a bit of a revelation. Old
traditional jazz and swing music from the 20's, 30's, and 40's seems to
define Monday nights in New York: Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks; Grove Street Stompers (for the last 45+
years); The Cotton Club All Star Band uptown in Harlem. From Woody Allen's
New Orleans' sound, to the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra, it's New York at
its most nostalgic. For fans of the primordial days of jazz through the
big band era, Monday night is killer.
Big Apple Jazz Tours will customize this
tour to include the clubs and transportation options to suit your budget.
All the music is swinging, so wherever we go we'll hear the best
-- whether we visit dives or fancier rooms. You can give your
dancing shoes a work out on this tour for sure.
